  • Name - Asparagus falcatus is commonly called sicklethorn and is one of the asparagus ferns.
  • Description - It has delicate, soft needle leaves on long thin stems with very fine thorns.
  • Origin - South and west Africa, Sri Lanka, the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean
  • Family - Liliaceae (Lily)
  • Varieties - There are several varieties of asparagus ferns such as Asparagus setaceus (asparagus fern), Asparagus densiflorus 'Sprengeri' (emerald feather or sprengeri fern).
