Scilly Flowers
Come and work on the beautiful Isles of Scilly just off the coast of Cornwall.
Churchtown Farm, a highly successful and thriving flower farm, is looking to recruit a floristry team worker to start in September and work for at least 1 year with the potential for longer term employment.
We are a family run flower farm growing scented flowers and sending them direct to our customers through the post all year round. The farm is on the Island of St Martin’s, there is a permanent population of 120, one pub and a shop. So you must be happy to live in a small but very friendly, isolated community.
The job will include making postal flower bouquets, grading and sorting flowers, flower conditioning, stock control and rotation, making up bouquets for local hotels and some floristry work for weddings and events.
The successful candidate will have good basic floristry skills, have a very good attention to detail, be able to work fast using their own initiative and be willing to learn.
There are about 20 people working at the farm growing and packing flowers and processing orders. The farm works very much as a team with everybody working together to get the job done. Our busiest time of the year is Christmas and it will be difficult, due to our remote location, to have leave over the Christmas period.
The majority of people who have worked at Churchtown in the past have found it so enjoyable that they have either extended their contracts or come back to work another season.
Shared accommodation is provided with the job and pay will depend on experience and skill level. Hours are 39-44 a week.
If you are interested in applying for work at Churchtown Farm please phone 01720 422169 or email zoe@scillyflowers.co.uk with your CV and a little bit about yourself.
